Lois E. Laita

age 84, of Janesville died at 3:59 a.m. Christmas morning, December 25, 2016 at her home. She was born October 24, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James and Emilie (Hrones) Laita. Lois was employed in the offices of the Parker Pen Company, Fisher Body and the Janesville Police Department. She took a course in floral design and worked in floral shops in Milwaukee, Tucson, AZ and Janesville as well as for J and G, Hilltop Farm and Hacker’s Greenhouses. After completing a nurse’s aid course, she worked at Rock Haven as a certified nursing assistant until retiring to care for her mother.
Lois loved animals, especially cats, birds and flowers. She had a good sense of humor, enjoyed playing piano and played the clarinet with the Janesville Municipal Band. She sang with the Sweet Adelines, performed at the Belfry Theater and the Janesville Little Theater. Dancing was another of Lois’ favorite pastimes. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Lois Laita is survived by her sister, Bernice Laita. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral for Lois will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2130 Mt. Zion Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Carlos Careaga will officiate. Visitation will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Lois’ name to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
